Fire burns through grass, hay bales near Inman Valley

A fire has burnt through about three hectares of grass and hay bales near Inman Valley and Ball Hills, causing a significant level of smoke.

A Country Fire Service (CFS) spokesperson said the 60 volunteers on board 12 fire trucks and four support vehicles were supported by aerial bombers to contain the fire.

“Crews will be onsite for some time working extinguish the fire and ensure the scene remains safe,” the spokesperson said.

“Anyone driving in the area is urged to take care and drive to conditions.”

No cause has been determined at this stage.
